The cost should be less than the traditional gardening with top soil and fertilizers not being inexpensive anymore.

Avoid a major mistake new gardeners usually make. That is adding everything they can think of to their gardens. This poses a problem because different plants will have differing nutritional needs. That means the nutrient mixture you create with the water will have a different ratio. If you try a one size fits all type approach, then some plants will die from “over feeding” and others will die of neglect. In the middle you may have a subset of plants that flourish. Think narrow to start and later on you can adapt your skills with the hydroponic drip to a variety of plants with ease.

Create a feeding schedule for your plants that caters to your routines. If you are an airline pilot that regularly flies from Chicago to Barcelona Spain, your plants will have to be robust.
